Hello Everyone!

Its beginning to feel like Summer! Sister Cluff and I had so much fun biking everywhere this week! I had two flat tires and a ripped dress! but thank goodness for members! They were able to help me out this week and fixed my bike!

Zone Conference in Fallon!
We got to travel down to Fallon to go to our last Zone Conference with President Chesnut! It was awesome being back in Fallon! We drove right through my area! it was cool. But It was kinda sad because President and Sister Chesnut said all of their goodbyes. It was the last time we were going to see them before they go home. But it was a really good Zone conference. President Chesnut taught us the importance of listening to the spirit. Sister Chesnut taught the importance of remember who we represent. They both gave power trainings. Sister Cluff also gave her goodbye testimony. It was sad because everyone that Ive grown really close to is leaving in a few weeks! I am grateful for the Chesnuts and for everything that theyve taught me. They are the best!

Kursten Riede
Sister Cluff and I saw a guy who was watering his yard so we asked him if he needed help. He said no but that we could go ask his neighbor if she needed help. So we went next door and knocked on the door. A woman answered and asked if we were the Jehovahs (smh) We introduced ourselves and said we were from the Mormon church. She said she has never seen female missionaries before and said that it was cool.  We asked her if she could use any help of any kind with cleaning or yard work and she said yes! We helped her clean around the house and put shelves and pictures up on the wall. She kept thanking us for helping her because she has lots of health issues so she cant do much around the house. We were able to get to know her really well. She is from Napa, California and recently moved here to Gardnerville. She is an interesting character. She was telling us that she enjoys swearing. It brings her happiness. She also was telling us that she came to earth to fight. Her beliefs in God were very interesting as well. She said that God doesn't look like anything but that he is the universe. We had very interesting conversations. She is not interested but is willing to have us over to help her clean. haha the people that I meet here are so funny. Everyone is different and has their own story. Its really cool.

Dan!
Dan is a potential that we met a few weeks ago when we were looking for a less active member. As we were riding our bikes we saw him again outside his home having a cigarette, so we stopped to talk to him. After talking for a while. He let us share a message. We shared a scripture in Alma 38:5. We taught how if we trust God he will help us through our trials. We also talked a lot about the Book of Mormon because he didn't have any idea what it was. He said that the things we were telling him made a lot of sense. He seemed very interested in what we taught. We asked if we could come back and share more with him and he said yes! He said he likes to be open to everything. We are excited to continue to share more with him! He liked the message that we shared.

Richard B
our investigator, Richard is doing awesome!!! He has commited to baptism and now we are waiting to get his parents written approval. His father is Catholic and is not sure about it. So we are just waiting on him. But its so fun teaching Richard about the gospel. He has a strong testimony and knows that everything we teach him is true. He asked us this week about crosses. Why doesn't our church have crosses? We were able to explain that we like to focus more on the Saviors Resurrection than his crucifixion. We explained that if he had a friend who got shot by a gun, would he go around wearing the bullet that killed his friend on his neck? It made a lot of sense to him. But we love his questions because they really make you think. We are excited for him to continue learning and to get baptized!
Okay, it's about that time to talk about food. Yes, one of my favorite dishes to try out even though I know what it usually taste like...Ramen noodles. Now you're probably thinking, what the heck are going to talk about some dish that taste the same no matter where you go. Uhh nope not really! Every ramen noodle restaurants usually have a different way they make their broths or noodles. So as a ammeter foodie enthusiast I would express my thoughts about ramen and about this restaurant. Of course i've been to many joints that serves ramen noodles but I really like this place and what it has to offer. Just hear me out. Okay so when my husband and I saw this restaurant on yelp, we thought it would be a good idea to try it out. And so we did. The exterior looked nice, clean, a modern style with the black or dark color scheme. I was digging that very much. as for the interior, very small but has that in the city yet modern style bar. The decor was on the industrial vibe that complimented every Japanese influences surrounding the walls and tables. We were greeted by a friendly waitress and seated within minutes of arrival. The menus was very easy to figure out what style of Ramen they have, to appetizers and other side dishes they have. My husband and I went for the Ramen noodles and tried their pot stickers. I wanted to experience what they have and whatever combos that would be worth getting. I ordered their Tonkutsu Ramen and Mika ordered their famous spice ramen. As we ordered and waited for our meal, we could see the chefs making our meal and other orders before us. It was a relaxing environment and it didn't felt too tight or small where we were sitting. Finally we got our food and it was very presentable and yummy looking. The first bite was very yummy. I would say the noodles was cooked perfectly with just enough chewy texture. I would like to have more noodles in this bowl but I ordered an extra noodles because I just like having more noodles than broth. Okay now to the veggies and meat marinated with that yummy broth. A Beautiful combo regardless of the brussels sprouts, which I'm not a fan of. But I took it out and it was still a yummy meal. Flavors was spot on and seasoned really well. It was like and pork creamy goodness. Sorry I can't express the details about food that well besides saying its yummy. Mika's ramen wasn't spicy enough for him but he still enjoyed it. We would recommend this restaurant to whoever want a good ramen during the weekend or even during the week. It affordable and reasonable for anyone who likes ramen or wants to give it a try. We will visit there again and try their other meal on the menu. Well I hope my thoughts made sense but trust me when I say this is a good place...its a good place to go!!

Iohani's Mission Call to the Philippines!
(Grant on the Left who returned from Guam and Iohani on the Right going to the Philippines)
I'm so happy for my nephew and his new journey as a missionary in the Quezon Philippines Mission. He will be reporting to the MTC on September 12, 2018 and we would couldnt make it to their farewell and homecoming this weekend will meet up with them at that time. What a wonderful blessing to witness this moment in his life. Best wishes and God Bless you Iohani!!
Iohani, Grant & Evan

Grant arrived from Guam today and was welcomed by his family and friends.
Wolfgramm cousins
Sunday meeting these young men gave wonderful talks about their missions.
I can't believe its JUNE! This week was such a great week! A LOT has happened so I best get typin!

Chris
Chris is our new investigator who lives in Walker, CA. He currently serves as a Marine and lives with his wife and son on the Base out there. He is super cool. His wife, Jess is a member and converted to the church in her teenage years. They both have been attending the Walker Branch regularly. Jess asked if we could come by to start teaching her husband the lessons so he could get baptized. We were able to meet with them this week in Walker. He has a powerful testimony of the gospel. He shared with us how he has seen his family grow closer together after making the decision to attend church regularly. Chris is hispanic and grew up in a strong Catholic home. He has a strong belief in Jesus Christ. He told us that he is still exploring the Mormon religion but enjoys going to church and loves going to the classes. It will be harder for us to meet with him regularly because of distance. But He has agreed to do skype lessons with us which is something we have never done. But we are excited to try it out!

Richard D
RIchard is still patiently waiting to hear back from the First Presidency to get approval for his baptism. He has been sorta depressed because he knows his time here on earth is not long. He has been having a lot of health problems but he has the faith that he will get baptized before he dies! He is so awesome! I know he has waited so long. We have now taught him all the missionary lessons that are required for baptism so now we have been watching videos and general conference talks with him. Once we hear back from the first presidency then we hope to get a date set up as soon as possible!

Fabi and Lexi
We have been working with Fabi and Lexi, a part member family. The husband Michael is a member but Fabi and Lexi are not. They both have desires to get baptized but the only thing they are working on now is attending church. We hope to put them on date soon. An investigator must attend church 3 times before they can get baptized. Work was the main issue. But we invited Fabi (The mother) to talk to her manager about getting Sundays off or at least getting a few hours off to attend. She told us yesterday that she was able to talk to her manager and she said that they will work something out! We are excited for them. I know that God will always provide a way for his children to obey his commandments!

Richard B
We met with Richard this week who is a 12 year old boy that we have been meeting with.
His parents are not too fond of him meeting with us (strong catholics) but he has been wanting to meet with us so they let him do it. He attends church with his grandma who is in our ward. He is such an awesome kid with lots and lots of questions! He has been reading the Book of Mormon and praying every day! I am amazed every time we meet with him. He has a strong desire to learn.

MLC
We went up to Reno to have our last Missionary Leadership Counsel with President Chesnut! A lot of changes will be made throughout the summer. I am sad that President Chesnut will be leaving but Im excited to work with President Godoy!

"Leave the Book on the Street"
The other day me and Sister Cluff decided to go visit a certain less active. He opened the door and wasn't too happy to see us. He started to tell us that what we were doing was wrong. He said that the bible is the only book we need to get back to God. He said he read the Book of Mormon and that its not true and that we are being decieved by satan. He told us that we are welcome to come into his home but we have to leave the Book (book of mormon) on the street. It was so sad! He told us to go find the truth and then he slammed the door. I felt so bad for him and almost cried. It was the saddest thing ever. We said a prayer and then continued on to the next door.

Miracle!
So a couple days ago, all of our evening appointments canceled. So Sister Cluff and I decided to walk around in a certain part of our area in Gardnerville. As we walked we met and talked to so many people! We met Peggy and Johnette, a lesbian older couple who was planting in their yard. They were really nice and offered us water. We sat on their porch and talked to them for a while. They are both very religious and attend the United Methodist church down the road. They respect what we do as missionaries. They talked about how they love doing Family History so we were able to testify of the importance of doing it and introduced them to our churchs Family history website. They were both really nice and said we could come back any time. We added them on facebook and hope to continue to keep in contact!

Lisa
Sister Cluff felt prompted to stop by a Less active members home. He was not there but his non member fiance was! She was super nice and invited us in. She asked lots of questions about what we do as missionaries and she found it very interesting. We talked for a while about her wedding and other random things. She said she respects what we do and said we could come back. We set up another time and then we went on our way. Its so cool to see the miracles that happen when acting on a prompting of the Spirit!

It's a beautiful day to visit family and today my husband and I are visiting his little sister Tali, who gave birth a few weeks ago. We are finally going to see baby Ilaisa'ane.
Okay when you see a cute baby with chubby cheeks, don't you just want to pinch it or squeeze it? I know I do! Oh man she's so adorable. I'm so glad that we were able to hang out with Tali, her husband Siua and the kids. Best Sunday afternoon hangout ever! Luv u baby Sa'ane and Stephany!
