My first experience to participate and volunteer at a convention. This is the 2nd year that Salt Lake hosting Comic Con. It's been fun so far. Meet a lot of people from all over Utah and a few celebrities. This is a cool experience the only gripe I have with volunteering is the LONG hours of being on your feet. And the breaks are so short it felt like I only sat down for 5 minutes and I'm right back up again. Overall, this was a great first impression of doing something like this, but mainly dressing up, seeing celebrities and having fun meeting and helping people. Fun times!!
I stumbled at this bakery by a mere chance in Salt Lake City. Trying to find places to take photos, I came across this bakery on the corner of 300 west and 300 south. It's a cute and simple bakery with the fresh aroma of baking goods and bread. This is a smaller size bakery but it has so much to offer. The menus are full of goodies that its hard to pick one. I decided to try the cannoli and it was delicious. My new favorite snack to get from Carlucci's. They have fruit tarts, breads, puddings, cookies and many other treats. So if you're in the Downtown area near Pioneer park, stop by Carlucci's and grab a nice refreshing snack and drink. I highly recommend it.

I'm in the Young Women's leadership and we have one of the sister leaders whose expecting with child. So what better way to celebrate her pregnancy by putting on a Baby shower for her. And that's what we did. As part of our youth activity, we wanted to put a surprise party. She had no clue what we a were up to, which was good for us. They wanted to have light snacks. But no one really knew how to put one together. So for me being in the catering business and knowing a few things about decorating, I took the challenge to set up the room and for the other leaders to come up with snacks. And as you can see through the photos, I'm happy for the simple but nice set up. When everyone arrived, a few people were surprised and loved it so much that they wanted me to decorate more activities for the girls. We waited for our expecting mother to arrive. Finally she came and saw the main door to our classroom closed and so when she opened it we all shouted SURPRISE!! She was shocked to see the baby blue setup and was starting to cry. We all thought she hated it but she wasn't, she was just crying tears of joy. Everyone gathered around her and gave her the biggest hug and congratulated her. We ate the snacks I provided and played tons of games. It was a wonderful experience and a jolly time for us and for youth leader.
I want to send my love and appreciation to my twin brother Henry a Happy 32nd Birthday! Thank you for always being there when I need you. For being a protector to me and nita but always providing comfort and care too. Mom would be so proud of you and everything that you've done in your life.
I love you very much bro. Have a fun and wonderful day that you truly deserve.
Luv always, Nini
Okay here's the first Spiritual challenge of the year....Write a 1-5 page hand written letter to YOURSELF!! lol Seriously I want you to write whatever you would like. Easy right!?! Wrong!! j/k This is what I want you to reflect on throughout this month as you write your letter, what do you want to accomplished, where do you want to go, who you want to be, what do you want to see, etc. The reason why I want you to write a letter to yourself because you will read it again in 10 years from now. Yup in 10 years your older self will read your thoughts of the now. To get started write your letter to yourself. Once that is done with true thought & heart, put it in an envelope, seal it, on the front put Your Name and write "Open me in 10 years!" Next take a photo of you & your letter and tag #je_spiritualchallenge on instagram or tag @jaylynnelu on Facebook (For kids 8 years and younger: Draw a picture of yourself and what you want to be when you grow up. Parents make sure to help/write down on their picture what they want to be. Make sure that each child has their own envelope with their names.) Put your envelop somewhere safe where you can find it in the future. At the end of this month I will randomly pick a winner!! Have fun!! **Note: I will be posting a weekly task this month to know your progress on your letter. This First week Post a photo of where you are as you being to write your letter & tag me!!
