Mika's Birthday adventure at Evermore park!

by - September 22, 2018

Birthday's are usually exciting and fun, but for my husband he wanted to chill on his birthday. And that's what we did...chill at home! A simple guy with not much to entertain him. That is one thing I do admire about him. We not only chill at home but we did a few errands like sending out our first missionary care package to his nephew Iohani at the MTC in Provo, since he emailed me yesterday and needed a few things. We were both happy to get it and shipped it out to him.  Next we ate a nice free birthday lunch at Denny's, which was very yummy. If you ever wanted a free meal on your birthday, go to Denny's and you get a nice Grand Slam breakfast. Totally worth going. Since we didn't have any plans, we spontaneously thought about the new fantasy park in Pleasant Grove called Evermore and wanted to take a visit. It's a really cool park with a cool twist of creative fantasy, mystical vibe from historical stories and myths put into one big park in Utah. Let's just say that's up my alley not so much my husband. But since we were up to do anything, we bought our tickets ($29.00 each) to go to their soft grand opening tonight. There were trick or treating for families and live performances to enjoy watching while walking through the park. I would say its a beautiful park with amazing concepts of Lore mythology and live actors. The park wasn't fully finished but will be fully operational on September 29. At first we were kind of disappointed because we wanted to see more but it was only open around 7pm which was a bit dark. But we were able to see what we can, I honestly didn't mind it but felt it was a bit of a waste to come before it was fully done. The good news is, we get to come back for free on the Grand Opening night. Now to me that is totally worth going back. The Halloween Lore theme was phenomenal around the park. From the garden, the buildings, actors costumes, the landscapes and food, everything felt and looked real. They really put a ton of thoughts to the details. Even though it was dark we could still see and feel the buildings and pumpkin scarecrow around the park. They had a cute snack station where you can buy drinks and snacks. i wanted to try their candy apples but the lines were long so I just passed. I'll get it next time. There were so many buildings and bridges still under construction but looked really cool from afar. What made the night even more spooky but a bit romantic, was the full moon! Oh yes the moon was out and shinning through the park like a mystical aura sprinkling pixie dust everywhere. It was a magical night. Well after watching the Fire dancers perform, we ended the night with a nice dinner at In and Out burger and a nice yummy cake I made for Mika at home. So to some things out for my husband birthday, it was simple, relaxing and fun. Happy Birthday Mika! Luv you!
