Every Wednesday, Henry would bring food from the food bank and this week be brought a ton of bananas. So I thought that it would be a nice treat to give small banana bread to my youth girls and to some of the Relief Society sisters. So I will be giving it to them this coming Sunday after the primary program. I hope they like it since I don't bake much. Well its the thought that counts, right?
Tonight we had a youth activity at the Garner village for Halloween. Even though it was a bit nerve racking for me because I don't celebrate this Holiday, but I mustered up the courage to go along with it since I am part of the leadership in our youth program and Mika is in the Bishopric. It is important that we both support our youth programs the best we can and to fellowship our less active youth. We had a fun time doing a scavenger hunt that was provided by Garden Village, we split into 4 teams to make it more challenging. Everyone that was there took photos of the things that they needed to find, which made it more interesting and fun for the kids. Once the festivities were over, Mika and I had the privilege to provide a ride for 2 sisters and their friend, who are staying at a homeless shelter. Before we dropped them of, we went to McDonald's for dinner and this was a memorable moment for me and Mika. These girls never had a Big Mac or Spicy Chicken sandwich. So when they tried it, they were blown away of the yummy flavors and taste of it. Mika told them that they were missing out on trying different burgers at McDonald's and that we were glad they tried it for once. This was a wonderful experience for me to let myself go in the moment of being there for those who may need it. I thank and praise the Lord for times like this.
Growing up and living in 38 US States, I have tried many different and similar types of treats, and this one in particular is my favorite, Manner hazelnut wafer cookies. I was living in Hawaii at the time when I first saw this treat. It was yummy and not too sweet. Now that I am older I still enjoy eating this cookie but not as often. Try this cookie out if you want something lightly sweet.
So yesterday as I was doing my typical daily routine of cleaning, a thought came to my mind or should I say names. These names of 3 sisters in my ward came to me as if its important. So I prayed in my mind while I was cleaning, in asking the Lord why did he place these sisters names in my head? Nothing came back to me after I said a prayer and so I continue on with my cleaning. Then suddenly after 40 minutes of no response from the Lord, a thought of cookies and treats popped into my mind. That's when I knew the Lord wanted me to pay them a visit. Even though I don't know these sisters personally, God knew them and wanted me to fellowship. Once I was done cleaning my humble little home, I got got my keys and went to the store to get some goodies for these sisters. While walking around the store, I prayed to God and ask, what kind of treats should I get them? No thought or inspiration came to me. Then I went to the candy else at Walmart to see if anything comes to my mind. Next thing I knew it, an image of a goodie bag came to my mind and I knew what the Lord wanted me to put together. I got everything that I needed at Walmart and the Dollar tree and went home to put it together. It was simple and cute of a goodie bag for the 3 sisters. I put small candy bars, cookies, cheese crackers, a scented candle and a thoughtful note. My note was heartfelt and of caring nature. I wanted to let them know how much they are appreciated and thought of by many in the ward and by the Lord. Even if I don't make an impact on their lives, I know the Lord will. Hope they like it. Now I am off to drop it off at their homes.
Our Young Women's Presidency leaders wanted to have a dinner together, where we can get to know each other and find a common ground on how we want to build this presidency and our girls for the coming year. It was a nice outing and I am glad to work along side these amazing ladies. This year will be fun and exciting. Oh yeah the place where we ate at was a Korean restaurant in West Valley called Myung Ga. It was yummy but I wish there was more options that wasn't spicy. Overall, it was a nice experience.
I want to wish my niece Anzehla and happy 22nd birthday! You have grown to become and amazing women and I hope that Bobby spoils you on this wonderful day. Oh yeah see you later on tonight at his parents house for your little birthday dinner.

Okay I tried my best to make sweet treats or any yummy looking food lately. So when I was craving toffee, I saw this version on YouTube and had to try it. I went to the store and bought all the ingredients.
- 1 cupSalted Butter (or unsalted)
- 1 cupDark Brown Sugar (or packed light)
- 40Salted Saltine Crackers (about 1 sleeve)
- 270 gramsSemi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (or milk)
- addAdditional Toppings (like nuts, candy or sprinkles, optional)
- Bake crackers and toffee for 5 minutes, add chocolate, rest for 3 minutes, smooth and let cool for 15 minutes. Put into refrigerator for 2 hours and break into big pieces and serve.
- This first batch was a bit too sweet so I made a second batch and that was way better. Now I have a sweet treat I can make whenever I'm craving toffee.
