Youth Activity: Service Project - Entertainment for the Senior Living
Tonight was a wonderful treat to be able to serve those who are in need of comfort, peace, joy and entertainment. Our youth and Relief Society put together a service project to perform a few polynesian numbers for the Elderly in the Senior living home near our ward. It was cute to the see the youth and their family to perform Samoan dances and a few hula numbers and a tauolunga performed by one of our young women. The Relief Society had a crowd participation in dancing the Hukilau hula. That was fun to watch the Seniors do the hula. Classic moment. All who were there in our ward sand a Tongan hymn to end the night. Mika and I record the event to make a video for our ward to see. I also took some photos alongside the young women president. Thanks to Spring gardens for allowing us to entertain the Seniors tonight, I we all had a wonderful and joyful time. Can't wait for the next visit.
As we all gathered at the end, we had a prayer and ate some yummy donuts provided by the Relief Society, Mika and I took two brothers home, Finé and Moni. Mika felt prompted to take these boys to get some food to eat. We stopped at McDonald's for a meal and had a fun chat for a good 20-25 minutes. Afterwards we noticed the rain was turning into snow, so Mika quickly and safely drove them home. They had a wonderful time during our activity and ending it with a good meal. I am thankful for these kind of moments to share the love and light of Christ to all who the Lord needs us to be helpful to. These boys also reminds us of the Naeata sisters, who we would take out to eat after a youth activity, because we knew things at their homes were not the greatest, but we did not have any judgements towards them. Just love and compassion. For me I do understand how these kids feel about living in a humble, not wealthy kind of way. So I would pay close attention and observe them with love and care. Mika also felt compassion upon any of the kids that don't have much but make them feel important, cared of and loved. May we all share more love and light to all who may need your shining example to brighten their day or even their lives. Make an impact today!
