Being on this weight loss journey with my partner in crime, my husband Mika, we wanted to try different places to eat but not be limited to enjoy. Today we were traveling to the Traverse Mountain to shop and wanted to eat somewhere different but has good options. Off the I15 South Highland/Alpine exit, we drove to the eating shops to find what looks good or interesting to eat at. We never heard of Cubby's, so my husband google this restaurant and read a bunch of reviews and the calories count on the menu to see if this is the place to dine in. after a few minutes of reviewing this place, we agreed to give it a try. Walking in, there were a ton a space to sit and eat. Clean and you can smell the aroma of whatever is cooking at that moment(which smelled amazing). The interior decor and feel reminds me of a clean, modern industrial building. Which I didn't mind observing. As you get in line to order your food, they have the menu on the wall so you can see the price and photos of each item they serve. My husband wanted to try their Try-Tip sandwich with Sweet potato fries and I wanted the Try-Tip salad. Once we knew what we wanted, we went to the register and ordered our meal. It took about a good 8 minutes before we got our meal. And I must say they service was friendly and courteous. A server came and delivered our meal and I was intrigued by the presentation and the smell of our food. Now here comes the verdict. My salad was big, and full of yummy goodness. It was in a nice big white ceramic angled bowl. My first bite was yummy. There we fresh greens, almonds, berries, green onion, blue cheese, house dressing that was lightly drizzled on top and a good portion of Twi-Tip steak. Flavors of every bite was very delicious and fulfilling. To me being on a simple food regimen, any food lightly dressed is delicious. lol I'm just putting it out there to be honest. When you're hungry EVERYTHING TAST GOOD! Overall my meal was just right. From taste, how i felt afterwards and presentation. As for my husband, he really enjoyed his meal and wish there were more greens in his sandwich, but thats for another discussion. Oh by the way, their sweet potato fries are AMAZING! It doesn't feel greasy or heavy feeling. It was cooked to perfection. Crunchy and soft at the same time! Okay so overall this place was not bad. Affordable and delicious meals made fresh on the spot. If you see a Cubby's in your area, go and take a visit and try their sandwiches, soups and salads or you can go there just to try the Sweet Potato Fries. Anyways, happy eating everyone!
