I can't believe its JUNE! This week was such a great week! A LOT has happened so I best get typin!

Chris
Chris is our new investigator who lives in Walker, CA. He currently serves as a Marine and lives with his wife and son on the Base out there. He is super cool. His wife, Jess is a member and converted to the church in her teenage years. They both have been attending the Walker Branch regularly. Jess asked if we could come by to start teaching her husband the lessons so he could get baptized. We were able to meet with them this week in Walker. He has a powerful testimony of the gospel. He shared with us how he has seen his family grow closer together after making the decision to attend church regularly. Chris is hispanic and grew up in a strong Catholic home. He has a strong belief in Jesus Christ. He told us that he is still exploring the Mormon religion but enjoys going to church and loves going to the classes. It will be harder for us to meet with him regularly because of distance. But He has agreed to do skype lessons with us which is something we have never done. But we are excited to try it out!

Richard D
RIchard is still patiently waiting to hear back from the First Presidency to get approval for his baptism. He has been sorta depressed because he knows his time here on earth is not long. He has been having a lot of health problems but he has the faith that he will get baptized before he dies! He is so awesome! I know he has waited so long. We have now taught him all the missionary lessons that are required for baptism so now we have been watching videos and general conference talks with him. Once we hear back from the first presidency then we hope to get a date set up as soon as possible!

Fabi and Lexi
We have been working with Fabi and Lexi, a part member family. The husband Michael is a member but Fabi and Lexi are not. They both have desires to get baptized but the only thing they are working on now is attending church. We hope to put them on date soon. An investigator must attend church 3 times before they can get baptized. Work was the main issue. But we invited Fabi (The mother) to talk to her manager about getting Sundays off or at least getting a few hours off to attend. She told us yesterday that she was able to talk to her manager and she said that they will work something out! We are excited for them. I know that God will always provide a way for his children to obey his commandments!

Richard B
We met with Richard this week who is a 12 year old boy that we have been meeting with.
His parents are not too fond of him meeting with us (strong catholics) but he has been wanting to meet with us so they let him do it. He attends church with his grandma who is in our ward. He is such an awesome kid with lots and lots of questions! He has been reading the Book of Mormon and praying every day! I am amazed every time we meet with him. He has a strong desire to learn.

MLC
We went up to Reno to have our last Missionary Leadership Counsel with President Chesnut! A lot of changes will be made throughout the summer. I am sad that President Chesnut will be leaving but Im excited to work with President Godoy!

"Leave the Book on the Street"
The other day me and Sister Cluff decided to go visit a certain less active. He opened the door and wasn't too happy to see us. He started to tell us that what we were doing was wrong. He said that the bible is the only book we need to get back to God. He said he read the Book of Mormon and that its not true and that we are being decieved by satan. He told us that we are welcome to come into his home but we have to leave the Book (book of mormon) on the street. It was so sad! He told us to go find the truth and then he slammed the door. I felt so bad for him and almost cried. It was the saddest thing ever. We said a prayer and then continued on to the next door.

Miracle!
So a couple days ago, all of our evening appointments canceled. So Sister Cluff and I decided to walk around in a certain part of our area in Gardnerville. As we walked we met and talked to so many people! We met Peggy and Johnette, a lesbian older couple who was planting in their yard. They were really nice and offered us water. We sat on their porch and talked to them for a while. They are both very religious and attend the United Methodist church down the road. They respect what we do as missionaries. They talked about how they love doing Family History so we were able to testify of the importance of doing it and introduced them to our churchs Family history website. They were both really nice and said we could come back any time. We added them on facebook and hope to continue to keep in contact!

Lisa
Sister Cluff felt prompted to stop by a Less active members home. He was not there but his non member fiance was! She was super nice and invited us in. She asked lots of questions about what we do as missionaries and she found it very interesting. We talked for a while about her wedding and other random things. She said she respects what we do and said we could come back. We set up another time and then we went on our way. Its so cool to see the miracles that happen when acting on a prompting of the Spirit!
