Oh my how time flies when life hits you with so much things. But I just want to share my love and a birthday shout out to my oh so funny, swagger dude, bars like no other, responsible nephew Moses. you were the cutest little kid I've met living in Hawaii. After dating your uncle and getting to know the family, you would always remind me of your uncle Mika, because you are so adorable and you looked like him. Even my mom would call you "little Mika" because you two looked alike. I'm truly grateful to have known you throughout your life and I can honestly say, you have grown up to be a sharp and smart young man. Don't ever change that sweet and gentle spirit that you have. Be strong and true in the gospel always. I just can't believe you're a MAN now!! May you always have a splendid and spontaneous life. Go out into the world and be amazing in all that you do! Enjoy your day with family and friends. Hppy Birthday Mosey!
(Weve been biking a lot in Damonte Ranch! It feels good to be on a bike again!)
WOW. It is getting real. a week left of my mission! I am not the same person who came out 18 months ago! I've learned soo much and I've grown soo much! I've had a lot of great experiences and I've had a lot of not so great experiences. But to be real, the mission is hard! By far the hardest thing that I have ever done! But I would not have it any other way! Its because of those hard times that I've been able to grow. But I am grateful for my Savior! Who has helped me through it! I am so grateful that my mission allowed me to feel just a glimpse of what he went through. Being rejected and having doors get slammed in your face was the hardest thing for me and there were many times where I just wanted to go home. But it amazes me that he went through soooooo much more! I know that with him ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE! Well I want you to all know that He really does live! That because of him, we can be strengthened and have peace in this life, and in the life to come!!
Well this week was awesome! We taught Lin and Denali about the Plan of Salvation! We had a great discussion and will continue teach the rest of the plan on Thursday!! They both came to church again on Sunday and participated in the class discussion!
Nonda and Blakely came as well to church. After many months of Blakely trying to find a job to support her family...She finally got one! which was a miracle! Its crazy what happens when you turn more to God! We also taught Edward again and his wife joined us this time!! She is from China and doesn't speak much English so she mostly just sat and listened in as we taught again the Restoration. Edward had a hard time believing what we were saying so we left him an invitation to pray about it. We will be meeting with him again next week!
Well I am about out of time. But I hope you guys had a great week! Thank you for your love and support! I will see y'all soon!
Love Sister T

(Philippines Quezon City Mission , Sept, 2018-2020) lol I had to
Last night Mika and I went and visited my grand nieces and nephew in Lehi. We just got done celebrating my niece Olimpia (their mom) birthday at Simply sushi. It was a fun time eating tons of sushi, chit chatting for hours and spending some good quality time with the family. After the adults hanged out, we went over to my sister in law, Jenny's house where the kids were and I finally meet my adorable grand niece Aurea for the first time since her birth a month and a half ago. She's such a cutie and I wanted to test out my camera by taking a few photos of her and her siblings and a few video clips. Here is the video that I put together from last night. Enjoy!
Dear Everyone!
Its great to be here out on the Mission, I am learning so fast Tagalog, different view points and especially how Jesus Christ and God are so important in our lives!
Cogeo Antipollo is the best zone ever too, heres some pictures of what happened this week and the type of traffic I see everyday its amazing lol. But remember wherever you are, if you love the people and yourself, you will be just fine!
This transfer I will be getting a new companion, Elder Dean was awesome!
Well thanks for all of your support family and friends!
Marami Salamat po Talaga!
Its been a rainy/Snowy week!
Hello Family!
The work here in Reno is picking up! It was quite a busy week! We found 3 NEW PEOPLE!! John, Donna, and Teresa!!! We are excited to teach them! We've met with each of them and got a return appointments to go back!!
JOHN
We met John a couple of weeks ago. He had met missionaries in the past so we went by to see if he was still interested. He is 89 and is the youngest of 12 children. He is the only one alive in his family. He said he stares at the wall every day so he really enjoys our company! We've met with him twice now. We have now taught the whole Plan of salvation! His religious background is Greek Orthodox which is interesting. It was cool because the member who we brought with us to our lesson grew up Greek Orthodox. We didnt even know! so that was cool. Yesterday we went by to read in the Book of Mormon to him because he can't read. We also sang him "I am a Child of God". He very much enjoyed it!!!
DONNA!
We met with Donna again. She is in her 70s and is originally from Chicago. She claims to be Catholic but doesn't practice! Her husband is a member of the church but he stopped going when he was young. We went by and testified of God's love for all of his children. They enjoyed the message and invited us back next week.
TERESA!
We met Teresa this week! She is super nice and really into energy and frequency. Its very interesting. We talked with her for a while about God. She is looking for a church but hasn't found it yet! We scheduled to come back in February!! Her husband is a pilot and his plane was hijacked during 9/11 back in 2001.
JENNIFER
We met Jennifer while tracting! She told us to come back again and so we did! She is an active duty medic in the Army National Guard. She loves what she does and is also a mother of 2 little kids. Her husband is also in the army but is currently working away from home. Jennifer was raised in a broken home and lived with a family who are members of the church for some time. She has been to church a couple times in her youth and mentioned that she misses it. She is looking for a church to raise her kids in. a church where the people are like family. I told her there was no coincedence that we happened to knock on her door. She was very open to what we had to say. We shared with her some scriptures in the Book of Mormon and she invited us to come back again. She will be traveling for the next couple months but told us to keep in contact over phone!
Knocked on door
Man opens and says, "Don't yall know there is a serial killer on the loose?" "You don't look like seriel killers, but you can come back in a few weeks"
haha he was really nice and we are excited to go back in a few weeks! Not sure whats up with the whole seriel killer part of it.
We almost hit this dog as he was laying out in the middle of the rode. We stopped to see if he was okay. He was fine, he just was chillling out on the street.
Wild Horses roaming around in Damonte Ranch
We went out to eat at Pisces Sushi on Pday!
This month is going by too fast! There is so much work to do so I will see yall soon!
Hello Family!
So it's coming down to the last few weeks before I head back home. I can't tell you how overwhelmed I've been feeling as I've gone through my mission journals from the past 17 months. So much has happened! And there is so much I've been taught! This month so far has been quite a challenge. I am physically exhausted and it's hard for me to stay awake in my studies. I can feel Satan trying to interfere. So I have been praying more. I came across some scriptures that have helped me a lot. It's in Doctrine and Covenants 10:4-5 and it says, "Do not run faster or labor more that you have strength...But be diligent unto the end. Pray always, that you may come off conqueror: yea, that you may conquer Satan, and that you may escape the hands of the servants of Satan that do uphold his work. I love these verses and I have gained more of a testimony of the power of prayer. ITS REAL! I have never prayed so much! I've been able to see the Lord give me strength! I was also able to receive a Priesthood blessing which has helped me tremendously! I feel motivated to finish out strong!!
This week was great!! Our mission is doing a 40 day fast. Each week we are fasting from something specific. This week, we fasted from all music and audio and it was a huge struggle for me but I've been able to see so many miracles! I have been more in tune with the spirit! Its crazy! Next week we will all be fasting from sweets. Our goal for this fast is for every companionship to get a baptism by the end of the transfer.
TACOBELL MIRACLE!
We didn't have a dinner so we decided to go to Taco bell near our apartment. and it was truly inspired for us to go there! We were ordering when the employee then asked if he could have a Book of Mormon! So we gave him one!
Bill
We were walking when we saw Bill in his garage. So we went up and started talking to him. He is an older man in his 80s. We ended up teaching him some of our basic beliefs. He then told us that he read in the bible once that God will give us a mansion in heaven, and then he started to explain how he doesn't care to go to heaven because he doesn't want to have to clean his mansion lol it was really funny. He said he'd rather have a farm instead. He was quite a character. He wasn't interested in learning more but we had a great conversation about life after death. I seriously love the different people I come across. haha
Sister Denning and I biked for the first time in this area! And it was a lot of fun! The hills were killer but we talked to a few people!
Nonda and Blakely!
Nonda and Blakely came to church again this week! It was great! they very much enjoyed relief society! Blakely's daughter, Sallye who is 12 came and we went to class with her so she wasn't alone. They plan to continue coming to church!! YAY!!
Haley
So Haley is a 17 year old girl who was baptized a year ago. After her baptism she stopped coming to church and got into some anti mormon literature stuff. She had told the bishop that she doesn't want to come back but then yesterday She came to church!!!! We were able to talk with her and go with her to class. She was really shy but opened up to us. We talked about anime and now shes open to us coming to her home to teach her more of the gospel!!!!!
Book of Mormon studies
Tocobell with Sister Denning
It's snowing outside and I wanted to capture the snow in slow motion settings on my Sony a7iii. It turned out pretty cool. I didn't use any filters or editing, just added music and put the clips together. It was fun just trying it out.
Well this week was so good!
It was wierd going to church for only 2 hours yesterday but I am grateful for the new changes that have been made in the church! Yesterday, Both our wards were jam packed! We even had to open the overflow haha. I guess people are making their new resolutions to come back to church! It was great!
NONDA AND BLAKELY!
Nonda is an inactive member and Blakely is her non-member daughter who we have been visiting every week. This last week, they both mentioned how they want to come to church but satan always gets to them. Sister Denning and I had a plan to be more bold with them and we commited them to come this Sunday to church and THEY DID!! They stayed the full two hours and loved it! Everyone welcomed them in and they said they will be coming back again next week! Blakely brought her two daughters and her son as well! It was a miracle! This made our week!
EXCHANGES WITH SISTER HOEFT!
I had the chance this week to go on exchanges with Sister Hoeft. She serves in a biking area in the Mount Rose ward. I got to ride my bike for the first time in 3 months!!! Oh how I missed my bike!! It has been too long. We saw many tender mercies. Although It was really hard having no car in the snow storm, We both stayed positive and had a blast! We realized that we could be negative and be miserable in this cold or we could change our attitude and be positive and have fun with it. It was hard but as we got to work and continued staying positive, we didn't think much about how cold we were! Sister Hoeft is from Mililani Hawaii so she is so not used to the snow. haha
We had dinner with the Maya family from Mexico and they made us Mole (not sure how to spell it but its pronounced Mo-leh) which I guess is a traditional Mexican sauce. We had it over chicken enchiladas. I didn't think I'd like it cause they said it has chocolate in it but it was really good!
Sister Denning and I are enjoying the snow!. We were out visiting potentials and less actives and they thought we were crazy for walking around in the snow. One guy said he liked our determination though and said we could come back. His name is John and he is an older man in his 80's. His wife passed away and he said he just sits in his house starring at wall most of the time. We told him that the messages we have will help him and bring him greater peace. He said we could come back any time.
Cynthia
We knocked on a door looking for a man named Dakota who had met with missionaries in the past. We wanted to follow up to see if he was still interested but he wasn't home. But his Mother was! She was really nice and didn't know if his son was still interested. We asked if she would be interested in hearing the messages we have to share and she said sure! So we will be going back later this week to teach her! It was a sweet miracle!
Edward
We met with Edward this week! He goes to another church downtown but was nice enough to hear what we had to say. He is a guitar teacher and he played some songs while we sang. He is really good. Although we are not sure how interested he really is. He wanted us to hear more of what he believes. We have another lesson with him next week. so we will see how it goes.
Nora
We had dinner with the Delavoye family and we got to meet their nonmember daughter named Nora. Nora is 16 has openly stated that she will never become a member of the Church and refuses to talk about anything religious. So heres where the miracle comes in,,She happens to love Asians, anime, and kpop. and It so happens to be that Sister Denning and I love all those things as well!! She was so excited to hear that we had a lot in common. That became the discussion at the dinner table. She then asked us why we came out on a mission and said that she would like to come out with us sometime. It was seriously a miracle and Nora's mother couldn't believe what she was hearing! We are excited to continue visiting Nora and hopefully soften her heart a little bit. She is awesome.
I love you and wish all the best for you on this special day! Now don't be going out and breaking those young ladies hearts on your birthday!?! LOL
Thanks for being the best brother ever! You are the best and I wish for you to have the best every year on your birthday. Take it easy and be safe!
Happy Birthday Bro!
Love always.
