Saturday Afternoon Session Notes

October 3, 2026

Conducting: Elder Neil L. Andersen

Choir — “All Creatures of Our God and King”

Elder Dale G. Renlund

Don’t be too quick to complain when hard times come or when you face trials.

“Why don’t they trust in Me?” — God

“I will never break My promise to you.”

In the world, you will have tribulation, but fear not and trust in God, for He will protect and comfort you. Faith in Jesus Christ will release us from harm and trials.

You are redeemed because of the Redeemer. We are not cast out forever.

The Lord has been merciful to us, and we must continue to grasp the bigger picture by trusting in God. Read the scriptures to find the blessings in them for you.

You are good enough and extraordinary in the Lord’s eyes. You can rely on God’s promises.

The power of the Savior is intimate and infinite for us to grasp. Trust in His promises for you.

Stand on the promises that cannot fail.

---

President Timothy Farnes

Sometimes we question why things happen and refuse to receive revelation from God.

Tell me how you are really feeling?

Acts of compassion reflect and help us understand the goodness in God’s purpose.

Are you willing to feel, see, and do what God needs of you?

Will I do what the Savior did toward His children?

What are my divine appointments?

Do I know what my mission is?

Do I have real compassion like Jesus Christ?

See the person God places in front of us.

Put compassion into action.

---

Christian C. Chigbundu

Immunity is protection from foreign invaders. Spiritual immunity is something we can all struggle with if we don’t stay close to God.

It’s through small and simple things that bigger things will come to pass.

How are you dealing with life’s challenges?

Are you inviting the Holy Ghost into your life?

Do you have a testimony of the Book of Mormon?

Search the scriptures diligently. Pray unto God with humility and seek guidance and peace.

What are you truly seeking for yourself?

How do I know God loves me?

Are you praying in faith or frustration?

Are you taking the name of Jesus Christ upon yourself and into your life?

What can you learn or change in your daily life to be nearer unto God and hear Him?

Are you following the commandments of God?

Are you staying worthy to enter into the house of the Lord?

Tithing is part of our charity journey in this life. Blessings do come when we faithfully pay our tithes.

If we are struggling to pay tithing because of whatever circumstances we are facing, call upon the Lord for guidance and peace. Trust in faith to know how, when, and where you can produce, receive, or give your donation for tithes.

God knows our circumstances, and He will always provide a way for it to be done.

God will provide stability for our needs when we faithfully seek Him, trust Him, and love Him in ALL that He has done and will do for us.

Let us not refuse to pay tithing.

Don’t rob God in our tithes!

---

Jeremiah Morgan

Remember the new covenant, which is the Book of Mormon. Read it and seek its truth through the Holy Spirit.

Seek the Lord to find truth in the gospel through prayer.

It’s okay to have questions.

Ratify it with Him who knows how to fill your mind and touch your heart so you can know its truth through prayer.

Don’t take a day off from seeking the Lord.

The power of God can be upon us as we faithfully seek Him. There are no limits to the power of God. We are the beneficiaries of that power and those blessings.

You have not traveled far enough to not receive the blessings or power of God.

Our family’s story is not fully written. Only God can write it.

---

Hutch Fale

We are sons and daughters of amazing Heavenly Parents.

Divine patterns of family are like our relationship with our heavenly family.

What have you done to earn God’s love?

Nothing you can ever do can remove the love God has for you.

You can always turn to God in all that you need.

Families are evidence of the eternal, divine blessings of heaven.

Beware of the devil’s words that eternal family love is not true happiness or exaltation.

Seek to better understand God’s love for us and our families, now and forever.

When we understand God’s love, don’t put unwanted or negative interpretations on family when things are not good.

It’s not too late to come and understand God’s love for us.

His love is real.

Do you know that Jesus is the Christ?

Are you willing to stand as a witness of Christ?

---

Choir — “Guide Us, O Thou Great Jehovah”

Elder Patrick Kearon

Avoid sink and find lift in our spiritual journey.

Lift people in their despair and guide them into safety and peace.

The Lord wants to lift us.

Spiritual lift can’t be seen, but we can feel it.

Can you identify when you felt an undeniable spiritual lift?

Can you identify your spiritual sink?

If you’re not lifting, you are sinking spiritually. If you neglect those spiritual lifts, you are dangerously spiraling downward into darkness and despair.

The rising forces upward toward God bring joy and excitement.

We are children of the covenant, and we must do our best to lift as much as we can—for ourselves and for others.

Jesus Christ loves to lift!

Find a faithful guide to seek spiritual lift. Join those who are climbing and turn away from poor decision-making.

Keep choosing to rise into the light of God.

---

Michael A. Dunn

Taking on a bigger task that you think you couldn’t do, but felt encouraged to participate in, can sometimes be hard—but it can become easier when someone is rooting for you.

The Lord can lighten our load when we give it unto Him, especially when all else fails or when we tend to give up on ourselves.

God lifts and uplifts us even when we don’t recognize it.

Blessings sometimes materialize when we least expect them.

Ask for a helping hand from God when you are devastated or depleted. He will bring you peace and uplift you.

Run with patience.

---

Matthew J. Eyring

I can’t fix or solve every hard task, but we can learn through God’s love, patience, and faithfulness.

Mourn with and comfort those who stand in need of it.

We all face limitations in life.

Don’t let our challenges fix our fate.

Cast your burdens unto the Lord. Answers will come when they are needed, sometimes unexpectedly.

We will not survive life without the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost.

Do we truly appreciate God’s love?

Do I understand the depth of the Savior’s sacrifice?

Am I prepared for God’s blessings for me?

Do I have the Light of Christ within me?

Is it shown through my countenance?

Place our faith in Him who loves us—the Savior.

---

Choir — “My Song in the Night”

Elder Ronald A. Rasband

We sometimes feel that we have failed when we experience a loved one leaving the Church.

We must individually choose Jesus Christ.

The adversary’s deceit is damaging, but not all is lost if we seek God and the strength to overcome.

We can’t force others to change. Only God can.

Only God can HEAL all people.

Let us refuse what is hateful. Let us be loving and kind.

Am I judgmental toward others who have left the Church or who do not live according to gospel teachings?

Am I lost myself?

Do I understand what love is toward myself and others?

Am I willing to go to God?

Let go of any guilt.

Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved.

Pray often for yourself and others, no matter the situation or circumstances.

Is Jesus my rock and salvation?

Choir — “True to the Faith”

10/3/26 — Morning Session

Elder Gerrit W. Gong

(We missed the first few minutes of this talk due to a power outage that happened right after Pres. D. Todd Christofferson did the sustaining of the Apostles.)

Temple sacrifice is a sacred privilege. No ordinance or covenant is big or small. Let us always speak with gratitude about these ordinances and the gift of eternity.

Family extends on both sides of the veil. Be a strong link.

Buy your own ceremonial clothes. Show your family and posterity how much you love the temple. God will protect, help, guide, and bless you as you go to the temple often.

---

Tamara W. Runia

We can't always fix things. In the scriptures, it says in D&C, "This is for your experience."

Why am I so surprised when trials or hardships happen?

The gospel is not an umbrella, but the rock.

Don't ask "Why?" but "What?"

Our suffering needs something. Christ's work in your life is bigger and better, even when we don't understand or know why.

Turn to God and let Him heal you. God said, TRUST HIM!

This is the true and only way to our eternal glory. Invite the Savior in, and don't let our pride get in the way.

God is shaping us into something more than we can do on our own. Follow and thank the Lord as He shapes our lives.

"If I Hear the Savior's Voice?"

Elder Gérald Caussé

"Be of good cheer and do not fear, for I will be with you."

Be a witness of Jesus Christ!

You demonstrate God's love, attributes, and the joy of His gospel. The gift of testimony comes through our love and faith in our Savior and Heavenly Father.

Trust, bear, and nurture your testimony often, for it will be important later in life and throughout eternity.

Testimony and love go hand in hand in God's work and gospel. Express Christlike love and show Christ's love for others.

Do you believe what you express in your simple testimony of Christ?

It's the Spirit, not the words, that touches hearts through testimony.

Your testimony can change lives!

Become an instrument in God's work and purpose. Be that spark of hope now and forever.

It is your duty and privilege to bear your testimony. Find simple and natural ways to express and share your testimony of Jesus Christ.

What joy and beauty can be shown as we do our part to share God's light with all.

---

Elder Vai Sikahema

He talked about his grandparents, the Wolfgramms, traveling to the temple.

No matter how hard their journey was to see a General Authority and go to the temple, they made that trip and fulfilled an eternal family moment.

A famine of the spirit will come, so be aware and prepare spiritually.

Beware of what we deem precious and what we put our trust in.

Are we listening to the Apostles of God?

---

Kevin J. Hathaway

Jesus Christ delivers us through calamity and devastation.

His deliverance is CERTAIN.

We may not always be delivered from our devastation, but we can feel comforted throughout the journey.

Sincerely seeking God's love and peace can bring understanding and clarity.

Hold fast to your covenants with God during the hardest moments of life. Find divine strength through your faith in God.

Turn to Him!

The Lord is not delayed. He has not forgotten you. He knows moments may be tough, but only believe and be diligent.

Be not afraid, but believe.

"Called to Serve"

Elder Ulisses Soares

Draw near to God.

Sanctify and honor the covenants we make with God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Bring ourselves nearer unto God.

Lift our hearts unto Him and communicate our desire to know what He needs from us.

Be humble, aware, and receptive to receiving revelation from on high.

Divine principles should become part of our way of life so we can know and understand our divine purpose in this life and the life to come.

Fasting and prayer draw us nearer to the divine will of God for us. Align yourself with God's wisdom and purpose.

Confidence in Him and His will is important for us spiritually and can uplift us physically.

Charity — do I have any?

Is my heart open to charity like our Savior's? Am I willing to open my heart to charity?

Am I truly fasting for real change and honesty within myself, or for God's approval?

Charity is a higher and holier way to draw nearer and become closer to God.

The Lord will sanctify us through our faithfulness, humility, and charity.

---

W. Christopher Waddell — General Bishopric

Missionary work is a beautiful messenger work in this life to help build up God's work.

Have the desire to do the work of God.

Do I have that desire within myself?

Do I have the convincing power to speak of God's light, love, and gospel if I am asked to do so?

Am I too distracted to become better or to fulfill God's purpose?

Am I truly converted to God?

Am I united in God's purpose?

A mission is one of many steps in God's purpose for our divine mission.

Pray to know YOUR MISSION.

Lift up your voice, lift up your head, and be vigilant in working in the field to do God's work now!

"His Eye Is on the Sparrow"

Pres. D. Todd Christofferson

I felt the boldness of his words about gambling.

Putting things at risk is not good, and we should stand against it. If we're not careful, we can fall into difficult temptations that could suffocate our spiritual and physical development.

"Casinos in your pocket" can be the beginning of harmful vices, bad behaviors, and poor life decisions.

Where will this lead, and how will it affect our future?

Every choice has an opportunity cost, whether good or bad. We must be careful.

Make your moral standards clear in God so you can be a good example.

Beware that your choices and liberty do not become a devastating demise.

Gambling is morally wrong.

Does gambling bring any real value?

We must live life in a higher and holier way. Be productive in doing good, serving, and loving—not gambling.

Be anxiously engaged in a good cause.

Hunger and thirst after righteousness.

Don't treat gambling lightly!

It has been a while since Mika and I have gone to the temple together. Life has a way of filling our days with so many distractions that sometimes we unintentionally stop making time for the things of the Spirit.

This morning started differently.

I woke up because my body was hurting. My inflamed tailbone, herniated disc, and the sciatic nerve pain on my left side were bothering me, and the throbbing pain was enough to get me out of bed. I decided to take a shower, hoping the warm water would help calm my body and nerves.

While I was in the shower, a thought came to my mind: Go get checked at a free clinic—or go to the temple.

I seriously considered going to the clinic, but as I stood there pondering, I felt more strongly that I needed to go to the temple.

So I chose the temple.

After my shower, I originally thought I would just go by myself. But another thought came to me that I should wake Mika and at least let him know I was leaving. When I did, he immediately got up and said that he wanted to go too.

That made me happy.

We both finished getting ready and headed to the temple. Mika drove while I began reading this week's Come, Follow Me lesson from Isaiah 50–57, titled "He Hath Borne Our Griefs, and Carried Our Sorrows."

During that short 15-minute drive, I tried to focus on what I could learn from the lesson that might help me today. I thought about why I had been feeling the way I had been feeling—not only physically, but emotionally and spiritually.

As I read the scriptures and the lesson, the message I felt from the Lord was simple:

I am here with you. Don't be afraid.

That was exactly what I needed.

I've had so many mixed feelings lately about different things happening in my life. Sometimes our minds can become so filled with worries, questions, pain, distractions, and uncertainty that we forget where true peace comes from.

Today, I needed God's words to remind me of that peace.

And I needed to physically go to the House of the Lord to feel it again.

When Mika and I entered the temple, we participated in sealings. We were able to do family names for couples and children, and throughout the experience, I felt a special love for those on the other side of the veil.

There were three other sisters and another brother in our group, and even the sealer gave us a moment to smile. When Mika and I served as a proxy couple, he became distracted by Mika's family name and accidentally confused me with another Sister Wolfgramm who had come in on Tuesday to do sealings.

He asked us about our nationalities, and I told him that I am Samoan and Tongan, while Mika is Tongan and German. He seemed thrilled by it, and so did some of the older people in our group. It was just one of those small, funny and sweet moments that made the experience even more memorable.

Together, we finished the family names and then went into the Celestial Room.

There, I found what I had been searching for that morning:

Comfort. Peace. Prayer.

For a little while, the noise of life became quiet.

Afterward, we changed, placed names on the temple prayer roll, left the temple, and headed to McDonald's for lunch.

Now we're back home relaxing, and I felt the need to sit down and document what I experienced today.

Maybe writing and posting on my blog is mostly for me. Maybe very few people will ever read these words. But I want to leave behind my own little history. Someday, someone in my family—whoever they may be—might find these posts and learn a little more about who I was, what I believed, what I struggled with, and what brought me peace.

So if my family ever reads this someday, I want them to know:

I love life.

I love my family.

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I love going to the House of the Lord—the temple.

I love the Melchizedek Priesthood and the blessing of receiving priesthood blessings.

I believe in the power of prayer.

I believe in forgiveness and repentance, and I am grateful for how those gifts have blessed me throughout my life.

My life isn't perfect. I don't have everything figured out. I experience pain, struggles, distractions, doubts, worries, and moments when I lose focus on the things that matter most.

But today reminded me that sometimes the Lord reaches us through a simple thought.

Go to the temple.

I'm grateful I listened.

This is part of my story, my thoughts, and my testimony from where I am in my life right now.

Until the next post, have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful General Conference weekend.

❤️ JayLynn
