It's Transfer Monday! And Sister Squire and I are staying the same!! We are so excited to continue serving with each other! Its gonna be a great transfer! We have a lot of events happening, 2 baptisms to prepare for! (the third one we had to postpone). It will be both of our first baptisms! :D
Karl
We taught Karl again this week! We pretty much have taught him all the lessons now. We will continue to meet with him to review the principles we missed but Karl is doing great! 12 days until his baptism!
NEW PERSON BEING TAUGHT!
I swear, this area is on FIRE! I can't believe how much it's grown since the first week I got here! But we found Diana who had met missionaries in the past. We found her while going thru old records so we decided to stop by and try her again.We went, she let us in and we got to know her and ended up teaching the whole Restoration of the gospel! She is an older woman in her 60's and she said she has been searching for a church for her. Her Daughter is a member of the church which caused her to search more about our Faith. She has read the Book of Mormon and enjoyed the stories in it. She believes in the Restoration and invtited us back next week! She currently attends the Lutheran church.
Richard B
Richard is greatest kid! His parents are divorced and he goes back and forth living at two homes. His Fathers fiance is an anti mormon and had thrown away Richards Book of Mormon that we had given him. But Richard said that he went and grabbed it and dusted it off and hid it. He is going through a hard time and we haven't been able to meet with him. But he still has desires to learn more about the gospel . He says he loves going to church because he feels peace. He is so awesome! the most strong and faithful 12 year old! We invited him to the Why I Believe fireside yesterday and he came! He liked it and learned a lot!
Richard D
We called our Mission President to find out any updates on Richards approval to get baptized. He was able to call Church Headquarters and they told him that the wait is gonna be another couple months. Richard is having lots of health issues and is getting really anxious. We met with him and his wife and watched a video of Christ healing the blind. We talked about how Christ can heal what can't be cured. They loved the message and said they would continue to look to Him through their trials.
Nick.
Nick is a guy we were teaching but then we found out he is YSA age so we hand to hand him off the the YSA elders. :( it was kinda sad because we love Nick! he is golden! but oh well.
Patty!
We met with Patty and taught her about obedience and prayer. She is doing great! and she is super excited still for September 22nd! And so are weeee!!
Car on fire!
this happened last week but I forgot to write about it. So I was with Sister Minton on exchanges. We ate lunch at Taco Bell and headed home in our car. We were at the stop light when all of a sudden the car in front of us catches on fire!!! The guy in the vehicle gets out and tries to put it out. Some other people ran to help and we were just sitting in our car like what do we do? we decided to pray haha so I said a quick prayer and during our prayer a lady is yelling at us to move away from the fire. We felt prompted just to stay in our car. We were able to maneuver our car out of there. We don;t know what happened after but we were safe. so that was a miracle. haha
We texted a lady who we thought was Jennifer in our ward. Turns out it wasn't his response was "Quit texting me fool" lol
Dan
We met a guy named Dan and he is an interesting individual. He asked if Sister Squire was related to a Billy Squires who is a singer. She said no and then he goes on his phone and shows us all of these Billy Squire songs. And he is full on jaming out it was so funny, and then he showed us how to use "Witch Sticks" to find gold and silver coins on the ground. And then he gave us tips on how to write songs.
Well there goes my time. until next week!
