KARL AND CAYDEN'S BAPTISM
Sister Squire and I got to witness Karl and his son Cayden get baptized this past Saturday!!!!! It was an awesome experience and the Spirit was strong! Our Ward Mission Leader, Brother Larsen baptized Karl and Cayden was baptized by his Grandpa. Karl had to be baptized twice. It was a memorable and special day for them! And for us! We were able to bring Nick and Richard D who are two other people we are teaching and they really enjoyed it. Nick was nervous about coming to the baptism because he's never been to one. He asked a lot of questions about it. But he said it was cool and that he felt the spirit. Richard D. Enoyed it as well and is excited for his own baptism!

Miles Miracle
We were given 1100 miles to use on our car for the month of August. In July, we went 125 miles over our allotment and we got in trouble haha It was so bad. So we made a goal to not go over for the month of August and we barely made it! We had 1 mile to spare! It was a miracle!

for the sake of time. I will briefly write what happened in bullet points
  • We finally met with the Saylo family after not seeing them for a couple months! They are a family we are teaching. They have been super busy traveling and stuff. We taught about the importance of partaking of the sacrament and invtied them to come to church. They said they work sundays and have been trying to get it off. But they are an awesome family who we love teaching.
  • We got stranded in the Rancho area in Gardnerville. I locked the keys in the car and so we had to call the mission office and Sister Kelly drove down from Sparks to give us the spare key. We felt so bad because we are an hour from the mission office. But they were more than willing to drive down and give us the key.
  •  We saw a family while we were walking so we went up to talk to them. They werent interested so we asked if they knew anyone in the area that we could visit. They told us to go visit Frank who lives in Brown house down the street. So we thanked them and headed to find Frank. There were so many brown houses and we didn't know which one to go to so we decided to go to all of them. We knocked on 4 doors asking for a Frank. Nobody knew a Frank but we were able to ask them if they were interested in our message. No one was interested but they were all pretty nice. We weren't able to find a frank in a brown house but we had great conversations with the other people we tried!
  • There was a lady doing something in her garage as we were walking down the street. I felt like I needed to talk to her but I got scared and kept walking. after 10 minutes of feeling all guilty, I told Sister Squire we needed to go back. I prayed that the lady would still be there and she was! We asked her if she needed any help. We had a great conversation with her and talked about Lake Tahoe. We asked if we could share a message with her and she said we could come back anytime. She is an older lady who recently moved in the area to be closer to her kids and loves to talk. We were able to get her information and look forward to visiting with her in the future! Lesson learned, NEVER ignore the whisperings of the spirit!
  • We were getting ready to go in to our dinner appointment with the Pryde family. We said a prayer before we went in and Sister Squire asked the Lord to help us get a referral by the end of our dinner. We ended up recieving 3 referrals (potential people to teach) from the Pryde family! Our prayer was answered! it was cool
  • We met Todd while walking around the neighborhood. He was fixing his fence. We had a genuine conversation and got to know him. He is an older man who lives by himself. He asked us questions about God. We taught him about the Godhead and about our church. He said he doesn't believe in organized religion and said he likes to worship alone in his house. Its been interesting to find that there are a lot of people that we run into that don't like the organized religion. He wasn't too interested but he was super nice. We just bore testimony of the Savior and went on our way.
  • Diana (the new person we are teaching) called us and asked if we could help her water her plants while she visits her daughter in Idaho. We have been going by to water her plants every morning. She has a huge peach tree in the back of her house and she told us to take as many as we wanted. so we did. haha
Our goal is to take pictures with everyone. So far we only got Richard D. and his wife Marian. and Nick who is the red head. and then there is one with Sister Kelly who works in the mission office.
